59' 18hp sea horse - tuning

any know where i can find, or how to return my high/low needles to maximum position?

they got out of whack at the end of the season and out in bad shape. I think i need to start over new with the amount of turns....thanks

there are many thread here on the same topic. It is a carb adjustment issue it sounds like.

Turn knobs on both jets/needles clockwise until they seat/stop (gently). Back the bottom, high-speed knob out (counterclockwise) about 3/4 of one full turn. Back the top, slow-speed knob out 1 and 1/4 turns. Start it up, let it warm up, run the throttle up and adjust the high-speed a little each way until you find the spot where the engine really runs out, then richen it a little (counterclockwise). Idle it down and do the same with the slow-speed needle...find the spot where it runs smoothest. If the knobs/needles want to move, check the nuts that hold them...tighten gingerly if necessary. You want to be able to adjust the knobs later if necessary, so don't lock them in position with the nuts. Then memorize the settings. Best to do this on the boat on the water.
