Internet Explorer 7?

With the advent of a slew of MS updates all kinds of goofy things seem to be happening. I won't go into them all here but it seems that on different household computers, different things happen.

Case in point, Mrs WO's Laptop. When she opens IE7, a duplicate tab opens at the same time. Is there anywhere this is controlled?

Another most irritating thing, sometimes it takes 12-15 tries to open her home page. Blank pages just keep opening in the task tray until finally her home page will come up. She is hooked to a wired network and lest one think that it is a connection issue her Outlook Express opens with out fail and if there is a live link in an email, it will open on first try every time.

Any suggestions?

For the multiple tabs, check to see the home page settings.

Tools>Internet Options>General Tab

There may be multiple pages listed in there. IE7 allows for multiple tabs to be opened at once as home pages. As for the other issues I haven't experienced that issue so I am of no real help on them. Good luck.

Install the free Firefox; read the install questions closely

I switched to Firefox years ago, best thing I ever did with my puters.

We use both here. My wife uses Firefox and I use IE7. I am just old and stubborn to change but Firefox works better.

I'm a Firefox fan also. Another neat repalcement for Windows Explorer is Ultra Explorer - Google it - free and much more readable & functional.

What about extensions for Firefox 3?

Some work. Some don't. It's been my experience that the people that make the extensions usually get them working by the time it's out of beta.
