I Dunno why yer usin' a 1150 number. Look at the base of the engine faceing it from the boat. There should be a plate with a number on the transom bracket. There is also a number stamped where the two parts of the block bolt together. I'm not sure but the 1150 probably had the same distributor. My $.02 JR

All inline 6s regardless of HP from 1971 to 79 with a round housing use the same distributer the housing (trigger) is part number 393-3736 in fact if it's the housing that you need a 4 cyl uses the same one with a different plate inside

Laddies, I found a difference in the distributor between my '73 850 and my '77 1500. Although the "guts" of the distributor were identical, the method to bolt it to the block was different. It was easily adaptable, however.

s/n 7057991

What part of the distributer do you need?

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I am going up to Manitoulin Island on Wednesday to make sure I have the proper serial and model number. I will get back to you though.....

Chris, thats why is specified housing (trigger) 393-3736 not distributer assembly

Your parts are still available at a Mercury dealer.

The distributer body and rotor are over 500 dollars each, at a Mercury dealer. I'd consider looking for an alternate source, such as eBay or private sale if you can.
