I was out on the lake this morning and I was having issues shifting from forward or reverse to neutral. I would have to wiggle the control to get it in neutral.
When that starts happening, it means a cable is wearing out and now has a lot of excess free play. Adjusting it only cures one direction, usually makes the other worse.
Time for a new cable or two.
