86 mercruiser alpha drive water trickle where the steering shaft

Tonight out on the boat i took notice that i have water trickling into the bilge. It's coming in at the steering shaft/lever that comes thru the transom. I don't c any seals in the area cracked housing?

There is a seal on the steering shaft. Read this section of the manual.
