I'll be out tomorrow, but probably won't be going any farther south than the Sassafras.

Not me. I'm in the midst of an intense job and gotta work.
Might have to work next weekend too......but N O T on 7/4!!!!!!!!!!!
Twice as Nice(the boat, and the crew from the shop) will be in the HDG parade, don't miss it, it should be great, and at least good for some laughs!
Plus we have a slip in your marina for the weekend, they still haven't assigned me my slip number, I think I'll stop down tomorrow and ask them to put me on 6!
I'll be out tomorrow, but probably won't be going any farther south than the Sassafras.
What about Sunday?

It looks like I'm finally going to get my Pontoon boat in the water. We're heading down to Elkview Shores this morning and with any luck we'll be in the water and at Cabin Johns and or Hacks Point tomorrow. If any of you see a 24 ft Starcraft Pontoon boat just give m the finger, I'll know who you are.

Finally heading down to Del City to put in. Lets see how many drunk a-holes are at Canal Day as I drive by it to the Chesapeake Bay.

Who's got a DSC radio here? If so, make sure you have your MMSI number inputted so we can set up a group and "speed dial" each other when out on the water, seems like a cool featured.

If I can make it down in time from a graduation party I am attending, I will be out in Middle River for the fireworks at Baltimore Yacht Club

Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake

i camped on the sand island friday night. left late sat afternoon.
i had enough of the heat today.
water was 85 degrees sat
feels like a hot tub
I would imagine that number is right.
Some spots are warmer than others, (the bay is weird like that)
with it getting close to 100 today, that seems about right.

Scott, here is a link(I hope) to Chesapeake City water temp at 85*, so maybe at Sand Island with the flats really warming things up, it could be 90. I was at Seneca point on Saturday and it was warm but I don't think it was that warm. The buoy at HDG give a monthly temp and it is still at 82*.

Man, y'all are killin' me here! :D

Datgum boat is still on the trailer because some knucklehead ordered the wrong carburetor kit and floats; now I have to wait until Friday to get the carb back!

Can't wait to run the canal, we almost made it to the Chesapeake Inn a couple of weeks ago on our shakedown cruise, but due to the boat running hot and missing, we turned around right before the bridge. Looking forward to meeting some of y'all...if I can ever get the boat in the water!

We had a blast too!! How late did you guys end up staying? I was exhausted by the time we got home Sunday, that heat was relentless! Hopefully we can meet up on Monday.

Sorry man, but from what I can see in your pictures, that water is not what I call calm and flat, sorry, Difference of opinion is all. Calm and flat to me, in water skiing terms, is glass smooth. Not what I see in these pictures. That is some amount of chop.....maybe not whitecapped, but definitely choppy to me.

BWAHAHAHAHA, I give up. Did you even look at the previous pictures.

That IS flat for the Upper Bay man, sheez o whiz. I hope you hold on tight in that "chop" :p:D

This is NOT chop in any form of the word. I've been skiing since I was 11, this is perfect, for the bay.
