1. When you first got internet, what was the first website you visited?
My internet providers homepage ;)

2. What was your first boat?
Same as the one I have now, a 16' flat bottom aluminum.

3. How old were you, when you first drove a boat solo?
About 13.

4. Do you have any trophies, & if so, what for?
I have one for Cooks Choice in a BBQ cook off. I made the stuffed and wrapped jalapenos that everybody has had except I used some of my brisket drippings over it and stuffed with crawfish instead of shrimp. I also have one for second place in the season when I raced stock cars. Still keep 'em both as I'm mighty proud of 'em.

5. What is your hometown famous for?
Donie chair factory. It was known throughout the nation as a maker of fine chairs a long time back. Now its just a dalapidated building.

Internet providers page. Vicon, I think. Now out of business.

12 foot aluminum jonboat with a 3 1/2 hp merc. Inherited from my Grandpa - leaked like a sieve! Sold it at age 15 for a downpayment on my next boat.

5. What is your hometown famous for?
It is famous for not being famous! Pride themselves in Lake Raystown, a 28 mile long man-made lake with water depths up to 195 feet deep and a mile wide at its widest point.

Re: Weekly Q&A 8-28 thru 9-3

1. When you first got internet, what was the first website you visited?
Freeserve (the ISP) and then German, Swedish, French (or GSF.co.uk) which isn't what some of the guys are thinking...............it's a car parts place!

2. What was your first boat?

A "With 300" seen at the London Boat Show, twin skinned foam filled Norwegian designed boat with a revolutionary hull design called a dromedile; twelve foot boat that planed with a 9.9HP outboard. At the boat show they'd cut one in half and had both bits floating in the tank they called the display a....................half-wit :$

3. How old were you, when you first drove a boat solo?

9 years old in the sea off Scotland. My father was Royal Navy for 25yrs, didn't realise that kids existed, just thought they were smaller versions of his sailors!

4. Do you have any trophies, & if so, what for?

Quite a few but some of the more memorable ones are: SF Survival Course, Top of Courses in that year (87)
and then one that's not really a trophy as such but an "Inscription on Vellum" awarded by HM the Queen for bravery during a rescue..............maybe that don't count?

5. What is your hometown famous for?

Probably nothing at all...............:'(
Most of the interesting stuff happened further away from the town. Europes largest prehistoric fossilised forest is at one side of the harbour. The area was once famous as a holiday resort in the days of steam trains and there was a mining disaster in the town once and...............nope, that's about all!
