What size fuel line for 1990 90hp Force?

I am replacing the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump. <br /><br />It looks like someone else has already done this once. Looks like they used a 5/16 or 1/4 line "not sure". Anyway all the fittings on the motor and tank are 3/8. I just want to make sure there was no special reason they did not use the correct size line.

like hooty said,run 3/8 all the way-make sure ya got no restrictions along the way.tear it up.
