All of a sudden, my monitor is "pixilating". What I mean is the letters are blurry and "dancing." Is this a problem with my monitor or my computer. Using Windows XP

How old is this monitor? My Dell CRT (2002 model) started to do something like that a year or two ago. Things got kind of fuzzy and imprecise, especially text. Pretty much means the monitor is shot. They just do that after awhile. We had a lot of them at work do the same. House nerd says, "Get a new one."

I got a new one at Walmart for about $100.

Summer Fun and others: Thanks for the help. I used a neighbor's monitor and the problem remained so I'll be taking the PC to the local repair shop.

Sounds like the video circuitry is fritzing out. Is the video a separate card or integrated into the motherboard? If it's a separate card, removing and reseating the card may fix it.

It's fixed. New video card installed and all is well again.
