mounting trolling motor: bow vs transom

Hello all, I'm mulling over a small inflatable fishing boat for relaxing weekend lake trips. Though I'm not decided on the type of boat/raft yet, I wonder if any of you have experience on if there's any good reason to mount the trolling motor (primary power source) on the bow vs. the transom.

Thanks!

I see... well then I guess I'll have to mount two on the boat! one on the front and one on the back. :D

Re: mounting trolling motor: bow vs transom

If your fishing a bow mount is the way to go as long as you have some type of rudder (like a gas motor on the back) or else the boat likes to swing.
Bow mounts control the boat way better then a transom mount.
If your just fishing open water or motoring out to anchor or tie to a tree then it doesn't matter as much, but a bow mount will always be easier in every situation.
I'm not even sure if you can put a bow mount on an inflatable but if you can the mount is going to be expensive.
If i'm fishing out of a small boat with a transom mount motor I always turn the motor around 180 degrees and drive the boat backwards.
