1995 OMC Cobra V8 5.0 Ford

Spark plug firing sequence. I see the numbers for the firing sequence but which number goes where?????
Guy I bought the boat from, pulled the plug wires off when he winterized. Should the longest wire be furthest away from the distrubutor and the shortest one closest?

Start with number 1 on the distributor cap (about 1 o-clock) follow the order counterclockwise. 1234 left bank and 5678 down the right bank.

got it . now putting the wires on the motor in correct position?????

Assuming the distributor is still in it's original position, here is the firing order for your 95 engine.
If the distributor is not installed correctly, you will have to locate #1 TDC on the compression stroke to find out where #1 cylinder is located.
