  • 1985 Johnson powerhead swap 50hp to 60hp

    I have a 1985 Johnson 50hp and the top cylinder went, I found a 1984 Johnson 60hp powerhead with good compression and I am wondering if it would it will fit on my 50hp lower end.

    I believe they will swap around without too much issue.

      That's what I am thinking. According to ***************** the crankcase gasket is the same part number so it makes me believe that it would work. Hate to buy a powerhead and not be able to use it. I know that at some point in the late 70s / earlier 80s they change the exhaust set-up and so I have to be careful about what year I use.
