I made my transom this afternoon. Coosa is very easy to work with. It cut and sanded easily.

Cross section of the material. You can see the layers of woven roving. The matrix in between is glass fibers and polyurethane foam.

So far I am very happy with how easy this product is to work with. You still must wear a respirator and bunny suit at all times as the fibers when cutting and sanding are pretty bad

I'm sure it was expensive but after that initial shock I'm sure you'll be glad not to be thinking at all about rot! Are you doing the floor with it as well?

Great stuff - I had the transom on my 23' CC done with the coosa 5 years ago.

Re: Coosa Transom

Solittle, did you put a layer of cloth between the skin and the coosa? I am thinking of putting a layer of 12oz biax there. I need a few layers of fiberglass to get it up to the 1 7/8" to 2" that the original transom was and that could be one of the layers.
