ran out of hardener

was glassing in my transom last night with 1708 (polyester resin)had one little piece left to resin in and could not finish,ran out of hardener.my question is will i need to sand this or can i just mix more resin today and just finish it.will it ome out smooth without sanding i do not want it to look like crap.or have adhesion problems.

should have simply yanked out where you were when you ran out of MEKP

scott danforth,you are absolutely correct,that thought never crossed my mind.should have pulled it off upto where it was saturated., dam. thanks

I usually have the problem of things kicking too early due to the heat down here. so many times I end up with a smoldering pile of kicking resin and cloth, then fire up the grinder again.

BTW, keep extra resin and MEKP on hand, you will always need more.

get the squeeze measuring cup thingy too.... makes it easy to squeeze what you need and dump one-handed.

I kept several smaller containers with resin and the little cups for cough medicine and the right amount of MEKP. Need more plop mix and keep moving.

yeahp, gotta get that saueeze measuring cup, counting drops gets annoying
