I picked up a '75 Klamath by Trailerboat with a '75 Mercury 20hp and trailer for next to nothing. It's my first boat project. I've been looking through the postings for similar boats. There is a lot of information about painting but I've not found much about selecting a topside paint for this type of boat.

So far I've stripped the boat, power washed and sanded the loose paint on the interior. I've tested for leaks and have two small ones that just slow drip. I plan to apply Gluvit but what paints are appropriate for the interior?
Also the old paint didn't appear to have a primer coat so should I sand it all off?

Stripped out the wood, numerous bolts and screws. Saved the foam and metal foam covers for use later on under the replacement seats.
Sanded with an orbital sander using 60 grit paper.

Looks like a fun project!
I'd toss the foam. It's probably wet and not worth saving is my guess.
