So here's the start of my Journey on restoring my hopefully fun first boat. It is a 1971 Suprrplas what ever that is ??? its a Tri-Hull that needs a lot of Love. it came with a 1975 85hp Johnson outboard. and a trailer with pinks for both, All for $150 (I figured the trailer and motor were worth it if nothing else.) So here's some pics of it when I got her and after taking the cap off. please if you have any suggestions tips or where I should get started please chime in. I was planning starting with the transom or what's left of it...

Looks like a great project ahead. I'll follow along.

I can't tell from the pictures if there's anything to hold the shape of the hull with the cap off.

If not, please consider building an outer frame around the hull so it doesn't reshape as you gut it and rebuild.
Otherwise replacing the cap will be a challenge.

You may need to reinstall the cap to restore the original shape of the hull before building the frame.

A few things you need to know. First you have to build a cradle for the hull for the exact reasons Big Gee stated above. And take pictures of everything and angle you can think off now. Also sketch a drawing and measure the hull and put those measurements on the sketch. They certainly will be needed later on.

You are certainly in for a new adventure that some times seems daunting and other times fun. Proper PPE is absolutely a must as well. So start with a boat cradle now. It will pay for itself as you work on the rebuilding efforts for sure. JMHO
