Today was the start of my winter project. I picked up a new to me 1982 Glastron Hpv165 with a 19 who knows what for sure 115 hp frankenjohnson that took some work to get running good but that side of it worked out pretty darn good.
As for the bad news. After noticing things that would be a big red flag to an experienced boat owner like small surface cracks etc... I began to ask questions and eventually start to dig. What I found was a lot of rot!
So I decided that this boat restoration would in fact be my learning experience and project to keep me busy through our 6 usual months of ice , cold and snow.
I have learned more than I could possibly mention from this great community so I hope I can learn even more as this is a particularly intimidating undertaking for me. However, I'm also sure it will be a great time and extremely rewarding! So in advance, thanks to everyone!!!
