I think either one of these would look really good on there. They are still older motors though.

Ok, I got sidetracked a bit this afternoon. I was GOING to clean the shop a bit and was GOING to clean out the boat (It has become a storage compartment) when I ran into one of the original Back to Back seats. I decided to QUICKLY take the cover off of it so when we get some really cold days I would have an upholstery project. This is the seat section with the "Backs" section removed. I am really thinking about restoring these and documenting it. I have seen several requests for people wanting to build their own Back to Back seats. this plan is fairly simple and Straigt forward. We'll see how my time goes. I HAVE to get BF1 Splashed, and then there's the possibility of BF2, and the "Tower of Power" and..... Man I'm busy!!!!!

Well.....I got the cover off and...

For those of you that thought my Wal-Mart Plastic bag idea for your boat seats was a little hinky. Take a look at this.

Looks like the boys at the Lonestar Factory went to the closet in the bathroom and took the plastic cover off the toilet paper to use on the seats that day back in 1961:eek:

That's too funny! But it held up, didn't it?

You've got so much stuff going and stuff planned it's making my head spin. I just want summer to come so I can fritter away the days in my boat! I know, I'll watch your threads so I feel like I'm doing something productive....

I truly belive I have the finest miter guage made. It is an Osborne EB-3. I bouught it several years ago, on sale, for $99.00. It is amazing and ever since I got it my woodworking abilities have increased immensely. If you're looking for one, I highly recommend it.

I GARE-Own-Tee you will love it! Best thing I have ever done for my woodworking. It is dead on on all the stops. Great for repetitive cuts. Just a super addition to your table saw. I slide the face over to within 1/16" of the blade so I get very little chipping.

Well I got a little done today. Finished the 2nd Pyramid base and the Rear Seat base got Glued, Screwed and Assembled with the Center Brace. I was so happy with the results I HAD to clean out the boat and temporarily put the seats in. I am VERY PLEASED with how they look. My wife even came out and Said WOW!!!!!

Looks great! You & JDA should put these up as an upholstery thread. The sewing circle comments aside....

Hey, what are those 2 humps under the 'glass in front of the bench & helm seat base? The mounts for a different seating plan? Back to back seat boxes?

Yep when I got her, she had back to backs but I don't like em. I'm gunna rebuild em though and then try and sell em, or keep em for an alternate seating plan. I'll be cutting them out when I install the pyramid bases.

You know it turned out good when you get a WOW from the boss!:p
I was wondering does the bench seat need to sit farther back it looks a little forward?
I may be wrong.

Yeah, I just threw it in there to take the pics. I will do some final adjusting before final installation. Will leave it loose and take her on the water and play with the positioning for proper planing etc.
