Steering cable wont bend enough to come out of outboard

being 74 years old and helping a guy with one leg I didn't think that moving a 375lb motor with another motor on the transom was a real good idea but thanks anyway, We pushed and pulled on the cable under the gunnel and got it out, cleaned it up and put it back together. Seems like it works...

Steering cable wont bend enough to come out of outboard

2001 lund 1700 fisherman, 2001 Merc 90 4 cycle. Steering cable won't come out of motor it looks like it's hitting the side of the boat in the splash well where it goes into the gunnel, and won't flex. Got most of the rod out of motor now I don't know what to do. Any ideas. Thanks

Steering cable wont bend enough to come out of outboard

2001 lund with 2001 merc 90 4 cycle. Trying to remove steering cable after finding that the steering wheel would only turn one way. Doesn't seem like cable is flexible enough to clear side of boat where the cable goes into gunnel. Any ideas how to get cable out so it can be cleaned? Thanks

    replacing tires

Is there a right and wrong way to jack up a trailer to change tires. I have a 17.5 Lund with a 90hp 4stroke and a 9.9 4stroke on the back, and want to put new tries on it. Can I raise the trailer with a jack under the axle or under the frame of the trailer. I've watched video's that say Never...

    Washing Vinyl floor

I bought a used Lund, outboard. I'm wanting to wash the vinyl floor. Can I just hose it off when done cleaning? Where does water go. All my other boats had carpet. I had to ask.

    Mercury 4cycle fuel filter

My fishing friend is in the hospital and ask me to do some work on his engine on his Lund. 2001 Mercury ELPTO 90hp 4 stroke, used only in freshwater. Looking around under the cowl I didn't see a fuel filter. After viewing some videos, I'm seeing that there's supposed to be one located under the...

    12V armature

thanks, this one doesn't have permanent magnets, has a wire broken on one of the brushes, lots of brush dust, I was just curious about the magnets, that's why the comment about the armature "flopping around". Others I've worked on stayed inside held by the magnets.

    12V armature

I have a 75 merc 850 that uses an external hydraulic pump for tilt and trim. I took it apart to look at the brushes because it wasn't working. After taking the cap off I noticed that the armature was just flopping around inside. Other armature's that I've worked on have permanent magnets inside...

    FUEL LINES PLUGGING

I have always heard the horror stories about carbs being dirty because the grey fuel lines fail, and pieces end up somewhere in the carb. I have never experienced this in my many years of boating. Until today. Not having engine problems, but this could have led to it. I have two motors for two...
