Re: Zinc Question

Zinc anodes are to prevent electrolysis, Trailers do not see this type of problem. Anodes will not prevent rust on the trailer which I assime you are talking about.
If you dont have already, get a galvanized or aluminum trailer and sell the steel one while it is in good shape.

Re: Zinc Question

Just what Major said, it wont do a thing. While I worked at boater's world during college this guy came in and bought the biggest zinc we had, it was $40 or so and he told me he was bolting it to the frame of his Explorer since he was tired of fixing rust holes

I tried to explain but that didnt do any good, I hope he bolted it on right I would hate to be the guy behind him when that block of a zinc comes off!!!!

Re: Zinc Question

Unless you plan on putting pontoons and an outboard on your trailer and driving it around, don't waste your money.

Re: Zinc Question

Thanks....Thats what I figured but wanted to see what you guys think. I know that it only works while underwater. What I need to invent for the ramp is a freshwater back in flush ramp. That would be nice....Back it in. Run the outboards for a few minutes and go home all for $3.......
