Re: Yukon River Alaska Jetboat Moose Hunt

SeaUlater, I read several of your post in the riverjet forum. Great hunt. I have been hunting on the Tanana out of Fairbanks and also above Nenana but never down river from Nenana. I thought about running the Tanana down to the Yukon and then to the Koyukuk instead of driving up to the haul road. Have you done that? Is it shorter? Was wondering if you might do some parachut training with me next spring up on the Knik off the old glenn. I have the system in place but would like to have another boat on hand. I'm in Anchorage...send a pm if you are interested. I also boat in PWS. Have you ever hunted on Green Island?

Re: Yukon River Alaska Jetboat Moose Hunt

Fire9mars: Hello and Happy Nude Year. Several times we have left from Manley and other times from the Yukon bridge. The bridge route is longer, but never a problem with water levels and launching, plus the road is quite improved the last years, thank you AK DOT.
We are getting ready to sell our 22' Wooldridge Sportstour this spring and move up to a larger boat. I would not be able to commit to join you on the Knik, and that hurts to say cuz it sounds like fun.
I used to skydive back in the late '70's at Birchwood and it can be quite a thrill. Would be fun to see what you are doing, sounds interesting.
I am in Anchorage also and work at Red Dog Mine 2 on/2 off. I have hunted the Sound but not Green. Most of our boating has been in the Sound the last three years, but half of our yearly hours are put on during the fall Interior moose hunt. If you view some of the Photo/Videos on RIverjet that are posted by Ravensedge, that is me in a lot of them. Have been hunting and fishing with Mark for over twenty years.
