This looks like a great forum lots of expert help. I am looking for a used bass boat 150 hp or better under 10 k possibly even buying a boat with no motor and having a rebuild installed. My biggest concern is reliability.I like many others have experinced the frustration of motor problems!!!!!!I am hoping to hear from the mechanics out there. There has to be some great older motors out there all the bugs worked out. Your expertise would be very appreciated thanks in advance make ? model year ? also salt water use 1 week a year thanks in advance.

My vote for the most reliable 150 would be the one on my Aquasport. <br /><br />My vote for the most reliable 200 would be the one on my Hydrostream.<br /><br />Thanks!

Yamaha, I'm sorry to say, but the Japanese have a real winner here.<br /><br />They are light years ahead of the Evincruds, Johnson's and Merc's in both reliability AND new technology that WORKS.<br /><br />Take a look at the Yammie HPDI's. Amazing motors with few problems. So far the 200 and 225 Four Strokes seem to be good too.<br /><br />John

Yamaha their 2002 s are out wait on everybody elses
