Your opinions Please/ 68 Starcraft

A fellow I know has a 14' deep V starcraft for sale, the title says that it is a 1968 however the boat looks like it's new. It's tight, no leaks. Forty years seems to me like a lot of years for an aluminum boat. Were these boats built better then? I would welcome some advice from those with experience with Starcraft boats.

i bought a 69 18 foot super sport and i havent found a loose rivet yet ..

Most everything was built better then, vs now.
I have an 83 that could pass for new.

Best guess, NADA probaly says 700.00.
What ever you agree on and are happy with is a good price.
Dont let anyone tell you that you paid to much if its a deal that you are happy with.
When they say something like that to me, i say go find one, buy it and show it to me.
they usually stop talking then.
