Don't really know what an umbrella policy is (or what it is called in Canada) I am however interested to watch this thread and learn.
No offense really taken. I knew when I worded the post that I'd get a wise remark or two.
Here is what an umbrella policy is:

The liability portion of an insurance policy also covers a legal defense representative if the negligence would happen to land the at fault person in the court room.
