You should check your rigging before you splash

So I splashed my toon for the first time and everything checked out good. Coming back in saw a guy with the same toon (21ft party barge) except he had a brand new mercury 90 on it. So he gets it fired up, backs it off the trailer and starts swinging the back end towards the rock levy. Well he goes to throw it in forward just to find out his rig is messed up and he has no throttle control in forward gear, Ended up smashing his new motor and prop in the rocks.

Seems like you might wanna check that out on a set of muffs.

Ouch. Yep, it pays to check stuff out before you get on the water.

If that was a new motor set up by a dealer, they would be paying my repair bill. I am not sure i would have caught this on muffs. I like to start mine on muffs if it has not ran in a while, but I don't put it in gear.
