http://community.webshots.com/album/93958301SRtCMW?960

theres pics of what is done so far.... put it in the hot tank today, cleaned it up, though the pictures do not do it justice. Honed the cylinders (they look much better in person)

This camera i have is pretty crappy, so it only takes very small pics.

I plan on having the motor running by the end of next week.

Hey killer, I don't know your background, so forgive me if I step on your feet, but chamfer the ports after honing, or you will end-up with broken rings........... :)

Re: Yet another update on my 90hp...

thanks for pointing that out before I put it back together. how would I go about doing that?

I am an ASE certified mechanic, and have lots of experience in automotive fields, and some small engine (4 stroke) experience, along with some work on PWC motors, but this is the first time I have completely overhauled a 2 stroke outboard motor, so its a learning process for me.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. The ports before i honed it had sharp edges (i cut my finger pretty badly on one) but these are definitely worse. What would be the easiest way to do this without screwing up the block, since I just dumped a bit of money into new pistons/etc.

Killer, use a fine emory cloth with your finger. Any power tool will undoubtedly damage the bore. The edge of the port top and bottom should be knocked off slightly to keep from catching a ring. Don't over do it. nevjb

Thanks for the advice, I would have completely missed it if someone didnt mention it as my service manual says nothing about it.

You guys have been very helpful so far.
