I'm waiting for my glassing supply's to arrive via UPS, (should be here today or Thursday), to install the new deck. The weather here is in the 90's for a few days so I just had to take a ride to the lake to check it out. I was standing on the dock at the launch ramp just taking in the views. There were about 4 or 5 boats lined up waiting to splash. This guy, I'd guess in his mid 50's early 60's was backing down a brand new 18' bowrider. He was by himself & I asked if he wanted a hand. He said "No, I got it, I've done this a million times by myself". I said, "OK then". As happens every time, he waits until he's backing to the waters edge to get everything ready:facepalm:. No one really cared though, & he started to back it down into the water rather quickly to get it to slide off the trailer, witch it did. Nice job! Only he forgot the bow line & the boat went sailing into the lake adrift. I looked at him & asked if he wanted some help now. He didn't really get mad, but you could tell he felt like a total *****. Lucky for him a 'toon with a bunch of kids was on it's way in to pick up a bunch of girls & they jumped in & towed it back in for the guy. I wonder what he would have done if noone else was there? Under normal conditions at this launch, there are not that many people around. Just another one for the books I guess.
