Year range from cowl paint scheme

Can anyone give a rough estimate of the year of this 70hp Evinrude by the paint scheme of the cowling? The owner claims that is a 1994 model, I will check the model number but this potential purchase is over an hour away and I would like to know ahead of time. Thanks

For all we know the cowling could be a replacement....in any case it does not look familiar.....the transom brackets appear to be painted with the early 1970's goldish green hue .....only the model number will reveal its true identity.

Not even close... more like a late 70's to early 80's as pic is not to clear.

Cowling looks like about a 1974 or 1975 Hustler 70. Rest of motor should be white to match, so something has been swapped around or repainted... Model numbers from the block or bracket will tell the tale...
