YEAR PLEASE?

I have a johnson 18HP Outboard motor that I want to buy a manual for. I need to know the year of the motor before I but the book and do any of the required service. I have the Model # and serial number listed below. The motor seems to have a floater problem. It tends to want to die from time to time, but never really turn off. I just bought this motor about 3 weeks ago and want to get it water ready. Can anyone identify the year??<br />Model# ID 14 Serial # 2041671.

I don't find an ID-14 in my listing, 4-Leaf.<br /><br />I do find a 1960 18 hp that is a model FD-14.<br /><br />My listing only goes to 1963, so there could have been an ID-14 built after that, but I suspect that your model number has been beat up enough that the F now looks like an I.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB
