Year of sea nymph 14ft

I own a 14ft. sea nymph . Need to know year boat was built by manufacture. Need this information to get title. Hull number is 481076. Thank you

I can't say if all mfgrs do this the same way or not but some years back I the year for a smoker craft boat I had and was told the last two numbers was the year so if that holds true yours would be a 1976. Sea Nymph I believe still might be in business perhaps a website check might be in order. You may also try the aluminum boat section and may get some help there also.

Sea Nymph was bought out 20 or so years ago, and then made for a few years by the new parent company, which I believe was Lund. I have some of the later catalogs. The brand name was then dropped.

Try fiberglassics.com and look at the archive pictures to see the vintage. Or post a pic here and we can take a guess. I don't believe a serial number database is available.

You should get the papers from the person you bought the boat from.

If there are registration numbers on it there should be a registration card to go with it. Many states do not issue titles for boats less than 16'. What state?

SeaNymph built the same semi vee 14ftrs for years, decades maybe, w very few, if any, changes.

Your best bet would be to contact Lowe (current owner) and ask them. And thats a stretch. The vast majority of boat builders dont keep detailed records for long. Alumacraft is the only one I'm aware of that can use 1950s serial#s to decode year of manufacture.

Although it may have been used as a HIN, the 480176 is a serial number not a HIN.

If it doesnt have a conforming 12digit HIN on the starboard rear side of the transom, it was built prior to 1972, before HIN were required.
