Year for Suzuki 9.9

I would like to know the year for a 9.9 suzuki 2 stroke. It is oil injected, electric start, long leg. The model number on the plate is a<br />DT9.9C and the serial number is 012116. Usually there is a letter after the DT9.9C indicating the year but this does not have it.<br /><br />Any help? I'm looking at buying this motor used.

The year model of your engine is determined by the first stamped number on your ID plate.In your case this is a zero which means that it is either a 1980,1990 or 2000 model.In this case i am quite confident that your engine is a 1990 model

Darn thathurt it said 0.0c0 is 1977
