Re: Ye Ha, Just made a score...
If it wasn't for eBay or craigslist I wouldn't have a boat. :-(
Seriously, I have probably cut my total expenses on my boat by more than half by using those sites. Back when eBay was actually an auction site instead of just another online store I scored many deals including a basically new Tempest prop for $100. Wiring, fittings, bilge pumps, switches, LED lighting, etc. All from eBay. I found a used tandem axle galvanized trailer for my boat on craigslist that I bought for $300- and it was in better shape than the single axle trailer that came with my boat! Same trailer would have been $2K new.
Also love having those sites available to sell stuff- all my life jackets that the kids outgrew, anchors I don't use anymore, fishing gear that is no longer my favorite go-to stuff, etc. It all goes on craigslist first and then eBay if I get no responses. I tell my wife that I don't really buy anything anymore- I just "pay to rent it" for a while and then somebody else pays to rent it from me.
