I am rebuilding a Yanmar 1GM 6.5 hp marine diesel and need some help in disassembly, the spring plate will not seperate from the flywheel, if anyone has experience with disassembly, assembly or has a repair manual they are willing to help out with I would greatly appreciate it.

I'd reccomend asking your question on www.boatdiesel.com They have an entire section on Yanmar engines. Just curious, Did yanmar use the GM 6.5L diesel as one of their blocks? Maybe I misunderstood your description of the engine.

Whoops! Scrap that last question. 6.5 hp not 6.5L. I should have read your post more clearly befrore asking such a stupid question. Sorry.
