Have a 2001 Yamaha XL800 that the hull fills with water in just a few min. or less. Plugs are in and tight. My daughters boy friend cut the hose that covers the impeller shaft wear it enters from the rear and goes through the hull to engine compartment. It also goes through a bearing before entring the engine compartment. The hose had clamps on each end. Is this were the water is coming into the hull? Bare with me please. i dont no much about them. I have replaced the impeller myself a few years back. Why that split this hose I have no idea. The ski ran great until it filled with water fast. thanks for any help or advise Keith

Very simple fix. Dry out the hull, take off the seat, and then put it in the water and very quickly see where the water comes in.....LOL.

Then, have the boyfriend pay to replace the part he cut off.

The hose i speak of is covering the prop shaft were it enter the rear hull (were the rear seat is) into the front hull. The shaft is exposed without the 2 inch are so diameter hose. Looking for any information. On the pattern of water flow of the PWC. To determine the areas before putting back in water. Its a long ride to just go put in the water and test. When it happened there was so much water in the hull within min. or less I couldn't tell were it was coming from. Does the propeller pull the water through the intake grate to were? cant find my CD manual. thanks Keith

The water is coming in where the hose was cut and removed. There should be a piece of rubber hose over the drive shaft where it enter the rear hull. Cutting that off has caused your problem. Need to find a replacement and install. The hose will connect the hull to the bearing. The bearing seals the water from entering the hull and should have some sort of grease fitting that needs to be full of grease.

that hose keeps the water out, you now need to remove the pump and driveshaft and replace the hose, then tell the boyfriend to keep his hands off the ski.
