Yamaha Trim Problem

Recently the Trim up stopped working from the remote (Yamaha 703)(Yamaha V6 150 1987 engine)but it works from the switch mounted on the engine.<br />Any ideas on how to check or fix<br />Thanks

Take the switch out of the remote. Pull back the rubber cover on the back of the switch. Take apart switch and clean contacts.

When you remove the switch and just before disassembling it, connect the red and blue wires together to see if the engine trims up. If so, then the problem is in the switch, if not, look for a problem in the wiring going back to the engine.

Thanks but I cannot seem to get the switch apart.<br />How do i go about it as I do not want to break anything

The trim up will work now from the remote BUT ONLY when the motor is already 3/4 up from using the switch on the side of the motor<br />Any ideas ??
