Yamaha Tilt & Trim

I have 1993 Yamaha 225 the tilt and trim works fine until it gets over 4500 rpms then it will not go up, let off the throttle a little take some of the torque off the motor and goes up like it should. The fluid level is fine there is no leaks any suggestions.

I was thinking today that the problem could be the switch so when I got home from work I tried the trim with the motor off and it is not the pump it is the switch and the position of the throttle. At W.O.T. it wont do anything if I continue to hold the switch and move the throttle back up it will start to work again, so there must be a loose connection somewhere how do I get to the wires in the throttle.

You will have to disassemble the contol box to get to the wiring.
