Yamaha tilt motor

My 93, 200 hp tilt motor is real ssllloooowwww when it's lifting the motor until it gets to a certain point then it takes rite off. Is this normal??

It's slower at the bottom end so you can adjust you trim angle while running the boat.When it sounds like its shifting to a faster speed its now lifting the engine out of the water.

My merc.. was the same way. It lets you smoothly fine tune your trim while on the run..
