Yamaha Tilt and Trim Droops!

My Yamaha 90 (1987) tilt and trim has started to droop and requires constant re-trimming. Motor will not stay up with hydraulics alone. Fluid is full and no sign of leaking. Dealer wants to completely rebuild T/T system, but I think it's probably just an o-ring problem. The tilt motor runs fine (just takes longer) and no other problems. Can someone help with my "droopy" Tilt and Trim? Thanks, Jaybyrd

You say no leaks, are you saying no obvious leaks? If it is slowly lowering, it must be a leak. While an O ring is a possibility, once you open that baby up to replace the on responsible, the others will fail when putting it back togather. Me thinks you need to do more investigating into a blow by in the ram or leak in the same area. <br />
