I recently bought a 1992 85hp yamaha outboard and everytime I run it for a while the warning buzzer goes off and the motor run sluggish. I checked the water pump and it seemed all right Water is coming out the pee hole. I was told it might be the thermastat sticking.Could someone tell me where the thermastat is located on the motor and are they much trouble to replace?

Re: yamaha thermastat

I don't know precisely where it is on your motor, every motor is a little different. They are usually on the cylinder head under a little bolted cover of some kind. Now is the time for you to buy a repair manual for your engine. They are available here on iboats.
