Yamaha T8 vs 9.9 -4 Strokes, Pros vs Cons

Hi there , I am currently looking for a kicker for my 23 Striper , I am looking at a 2001 9.9 Yamaha High Thrust or a 2005 9.9 Yamaha High Thrust and last a 2003 Yamaha T8 4 Stroke . All 3 motors have real low hours , all are remote , with power tilt , Electric start . The best deal is on the 2001 9.9 , only 20 hrs he claims , like brand new . Do they all way about the same , which is quieter , Cold Starting , I fish Vancouver BC , not that cool here !! any insight on my pre purchase would be muchly appreciated , Does any one have an image of the 2001 9.9 ?? take care . kosi99

I saw some posts of guys having trouble getting their motors started when cold, but not an issue once warm.

I have Yamaha's from the late 80's and question their corrosion resistance when used in the saltwater and the years start to pile up.
