I have owned this 4-stroke for almost 2 years, with same intermittent problem: one or two of the 4 carbs will load up and drop for no apparant reason. Yamaha has been of little or no help, dispite this being under warranty. We have had very competant shops check all the obvious: carb sync, coils, dashpot settings, etc. I am beginning to think this is something off the wall. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
C.W.Oakes

Re: Yamaha T-50

Howdy, CW.

Welcome to the board.

You must be mistaken. Yamahas never give trouble. :D (Joke)

Seriously, sounds to me like a fuel pressure problem.

I'm not clear what you mean by a carb loading up and dropping. Does that mean going too rich or too lean?

Either way, I would carefully review and check float settings on all carbs. Record any differences you find and compare them to spec. Then set all to spec.

Let us know what you find.

Good luck. :)

Re: Yamaha T-50

JB: Thanks for your input, by loading up I mean that the plugs are wet when checked (real wet). I will have the carbs rechecked and floats set again, Yamaha is supposed to have a rep come down and give it a go. Such a problem prone engine! Thanks again.

C.W.Oakes
