Re: yamaha steering tube?

Hi mike and welcome to the forum.

That's a good question. Generally, steering cable rams and steering tubes are standard size. But don't know about the OD of the tube (metric?). If possible and the tube is not kinked or bent, the tube can be cleaned and reused. I use a wire brush on a drill to clean mine. If damaged, best to get to a yammy dealer for a new one. These are generally not stocked and are ordered.

A shotgun barrel brush will work really good as well, just spray in a degreaser and let it soak for a good five min. first. Scrub away and rinse clean.

I'm not sure to tell you the truth, when my dad past away a couple of years ago I got the brush, along with alot of other stuff, but no gun to go with it. If I remember right, it was a 12 gauge, but it's been almost 15yrs. since I saw it last.
But it does work really well, I did it on my 115 rude when I changed out the steering cable.
