Yamaha repower

My boat had a Evinrude 60 hp/ OMC control and I just picked up a 2014 Yamaha T50LB. I have the pin out from my old connector and the Yamaha connector pin out. Can I just cross reference and connect here to have ignition sw and gauges working?

No reason why not.

The copper wire inside the insulation cares not the colour of the insulation.

2-stoke controls are wired different than 4-stroke, especially the ignition switch and kill switch

Decided to go for it this weekend. Took some time but everything worked out good. Just had to cross reference everything. Only issue I had was that the trim gauge was showing opposite of what it should. From what I've read Evinrude/Johnson where different and I need to get a different gauge.
