yamaha putting in some rings..

hey took her apart and the cylinder walls look great and checks fine with bore guage and micrometer.Do I still need to have a machine shop hone cyl. walls and what other tips does anyone have Thanks Mike ps first time attempting such a major task.so all tips appreciated..

Yes you need to hone the cylinder walls if your putting new rings in. If you don't hone the cylinders the rings will never break in properly.<br />

You do not need a machine shop to do this. Get a'cylinder hone and do it yourself. Do a bit of reading on how to do it before you start.
