just tested my thermo switch on my yamaha 85 day before yesterday. i removed the switch from the block, placed it in less than an inch of water in a small metal bowl, with the ignition switch on but motor not running, i heated the bowl of water with a wagner electric heat gun and monitored the temp with an infared temp gun, Heat the bottom of the bowl until the alarm sounds and check the temp
