I currently have a 1978 model Lowe aluminum 1760, with a 1978 model mercury 50 hp. I am considering re-powering the boat with a 1987 90 hp. yamaha jet foot outboard. I use this boat primarily for duck hunting and fishing, so I often encounter stumps, shallow water, and occasionally weeds. What are the pros and cons of owning a jet motor? How is the reverse on a jet drive motor? And what about the weigh difference on the two motors? Any help would be great, thanks.
