Hello,

I have a 1991 Yamaha 150hp. I am having trouble with the oil injection. It seems like when the boat sits for a long period the oil tank on the engine overflows. When I use the boat regularly it doen't happen.

Any help would be apprecitated.

Re: yamaha oil injection

The float sensor in the tank located on the engine is sticking from lack of use. You can remove it and be sure the slide is clean and that may take care of the problem.

Re: yamaha oil injection

Thanks for your help.

That's what I was thinking so at the begining of the season I drained the tank and inspected the switch and it was moving freely. The pump turned off at the top, on at the middle and the buzzer was sounding at the bottom. Wouldn't the float switch be up at the top after I was done using the boat for the day. If it was sticking it should be in the top postion which is off and shouldn't be pumping at all ??? I was debating on just buying a new "gauge level switch" Does $150.00 bucks sound about right for a new yamaha replacement?

Also could the manual override switch be malfuctioning?

Thank you
