yamaha mid case hot

Does the mid case on a Yamaha get hot, My block is cool to the touch, lower unit cool, but the mid case get hot ( not Red Hot but) , I have never seen this on the Johnson /evinrudes I run, Is it just how the Yamamha run It is a 1989 155
