Just keep pumping until it overflows out of the vent hole....then you know it's full to the recommended level....

I would doubt it's plugged, but stick a section of weed eater monofilament in there....sorta like opening the pee hole water tube....just keep pumping and the oil will come out there...

Pumped enough oil it started coming out the prop seal, this unit was not used since complete over haul. Stuck a drill bit in the hole, did not help. I wonder if there is not a gasket over the whole. What is behind the vent whole? Tempted to drill it out. My have to drop the lower unit to see what is going on. Thanks for the reply, by the way!!

If it's blocked by a gasket then stick it with a tool like an ice pick....no drill bits in there!

How much gear oil goes in the LU, how much did you pump in?
If you pumped in enough gear oil,it could be leaking through the oil seal.
Time to drop the LU.
