I have a new 2006 Yamaha j90 4 stroke on a 22' Bennington pontoon. A friend also has the same boat with a 115HP 4 stroke Yamaha. When he goes to full throttle it tops out at 5400 rpm's. My engine seems to evenly throttle up to about 6300 rpm' and runs a what I believe is top speed for the boat/engine. Can anyone shed in light on this problem? What is the normal rpm's for a 2006 4 stroke J90 Yamaha? Is my friends problem possibly the prop? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
